Committee Representation
As a national association for the electronic security industry, NAAA will represent its members on all relevant standards. As a member you will have valuable input in to the review of relevant Australian Standards, either as an NAAA representative or through member discussion groups.
Relevant Standards
We encourage all NAAA members to become familiar with their relevant Australian Standards:
Intruder Alarm Systems relating Australian Standards
AS/NZS 2201.1:2007 INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS – CLIENT’S PREMISES-DESIGN, INSTALLATION, COMMISSIONING AND MAINTENANCE
This Standard specifies the minimum requirements for the design, installation, commissioning, installation and maintenance of intruder alarm systems.
It classifies equipment and systems interconnected by wire and wire-free links. Such systems consist of detection devices, control equipment, warning and signalling devices, and the necessary power supply equipment.
AS 2201.2-2004 INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS - MONITORING CENTRES
This Standard specifies requirements and a grading convention for monitoring centres used for the monitoring of intruder alarm systems. It also sets out requirements and a grading convention for operations, equipment and staff in monitoring centres used for the monitoring of intruder alarm systems.
AS/NZS 2201.5:2008 INTRUDER ALARM SYSTEMS - ALARM TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS
This Standard specifies the requirements for the performance, reliability and security characteristics for alarm transmission systems used as part of an intruder alarm system.
It includes requirements for the transmission of signals between an intruder alarm system in a clients premises and a monitoring centre.
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) related Australian Standards
AS 4806.1-2006 CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) - MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION
This Standard provides recommendations for the operation and management of closed circuit television (CCTV) within a controlled environment, where data that may be offered as evidence is received, stored, reviewed or analysed.
AS 4806.2-2006 CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) - APPLICATION GUIDELINES
This Standard provides recommendations for the selection, planning and installation of closed circuit television systems comprising camera(s), monitor(s), video recorder(s), switching, control and ancillary equipment for use in security and surveillance applications.
AS 4806.3-2006 CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) - PAL SIGNAL TIMINGS AND LEVELS
This Standard provides requirements for PAL signals used in closed circuit television (CCTV) equipment and systems with an analogue input or an analogue output or both.
AS 4806.4-2008 CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) - REMOTE VIDEO
This Standard sets out requirements and recommendations for the design, installation, commissioning, operation and remote monitoring of the following:
(a) Remotely monitored detector-activated alarm verification CCTV systems.
(b) Remotely monitored interactive video management CCTV systems.
(c) Remotely monitored CCTV surveillance systems.
